15 September 2008: Results of the North West Four Counties 2008 are available now.

14 September 2008: New area merchandise will be available soon which will make ideal Christmas presents. We will be stocking new style Polo shirts in both adult and junior sizes.
08 April 2008: The North West Area are pleased to announce that the promotion examination on 11 May 2008 will still take place. This will be the last competitive grading which the area will hold. We hope to see you all there for what will be, for many judokas, the end of an era.
01 April 2008: New Technical Grading Scheme. Are you aware that you no longer have to compete to rise through the ranks of Judo? The new Technical Grading system has been announced by the BJA and became effective from 1st April 2008. An FAQ is available here. As well as this FAQ, the BJA have published the new Junior Syllabus and the Senior Syllabus.
10 March 2008: Unfortunately, the North West Area squads site has been decommissioned at the request of the NWA Committee.
25 February 2008: Could you be officiating at the 2012 Olympics? If you are aged 16-19 and would like to take advantage of our free BJA Level 1 Time Keepers course, this is for you. No judo experience is necessary. See Calendar of Events for more info.
09 December 2007: Congratulations to Urmston Judo Club who are the first clud to win the new Glenis Bamber Memorial Trophy at the Mini Age Banded Championsships (02/12/2007).

29 September 2007: Our congratulations go to Kerry Manfredi who, earlier today, won the +78kg gold medal in the British Masters Championships held at Thetford Leisure Centre.
11 June 2007: Calling all officials - are you available on Saturday 30 June to officiate at the Greater Manchester Youth Games. This event will run across 3 mat areas and will be held at the Tennis Centre, Sport City, Manchester. Expenses, refreshments and a polo-shirt will be provided. Please contact Dermot Heslop if you can assist with this event.
